TPP & the Environment |

In the same way that we are committed to our customers, we are committed to our environment. In the past few months, we have taken important steps to ensure that we, as a company, act responsibly toward our planet.
Having switched to green power, we now use 100% renewable energy in our headquarters. We also introduced "Green Office" guidelines to our staff, reinforcing the fact that everyone can make a difference - even with little actions like switching off electronic devices before leaving the office, and recycling and reusing paper.
In the course of introducing new hosting products, we focused on using a new server technology called virtualisation, which ensures that less energy is used to run a server. Using virtualised machine infrastructure reduces energy consumption by allowing us to run our applications on fewer physical servers, which in turn reduces our power and cooling requirements by up to 84%. Consolidating 30 physical servers into 30 Dedicated Hosting accounts running on one server would save over 100,000 kWh per year. That's as much energy as is consumed on average by 10 houses! Using virtualised machines therefore means using resources for environmentally friendly computing.
These are some of the initiatives that we at TPP Internet have introduced to do our bit in the global challenge to help protect our environment. We will continue to look at opportunities to improve our carbon footprint and act as responsible citizens of the Global Village.
